VEGEA PRODUCTION PROCESS
VEGEA has developed a production process that transforms the by-products of the wine industry into
renewable and high-performance materials. VEGEA follows a circular-economy model and manages every step of production:
it collaborates with various research centres, develops sustainable formulations in its own laboratories and
produces biomaterials on an industrial scale through its coating plants.
Thanks to the traceability of the production chain, VEGEA guarantees safety, reliability and quality.

THE PROCESS
+
STEP 1
GRAPE MARC SOURCING
Grape marc—composed of grape skins, seeds, and stalks derived from winemaking—is carefully selected and cleaned, becoming a valuable raw material for VEGEA.
+
STEP 2
DRYING AND DISTILLATION
Grape marc undergoes special physical treatments to remove water and alcool residues.
+
STEP 3
VEGEA BIOCOMPOUND
Cellulose fibers from grape skins, seeds, and stalks provide structure and density, while grape seed oil contributes to the compound. These elements are mixed into a homogeneous biocompound, with pigments added to create different color shades.
+
STEP 4
BAKING
The biocompound is poured onto release paper, up to three layers, combined with a textile backing, solidified in a dedicated oven for each layer and then left to cool.
+
STEP 5
GRAPESKIN® IS BORN
Once the release paper is removed, a vegan, cruelty-free and naturally toxic solvent-free coating material is ready for the final use.
